Privacy Notice (V.2.3)
The Coupang group of companies (meaning Coupang, LLC and all affiliates and subsidiaries of Coupang, LLC) (collectively, “Coupang”) has established this privacy notice to protect the personal information of applicants in a secure manner and help them with any inquiry or problem. If this privacy notice needs to be revised for any reason due to an amendment of applicable laws or Coupang’s policies, we will inform you promptly via the Coupang website.
1. Collection of Use of Personal Information
(1) Applicants
Coupang does not collect or use personal information of types other than those listed below and advises applicants to ensure that they do not provide unnecessary personal information alongside their resumes.

(6) Coupang Fulfillment Services (CFS) applicants

Coupang does not collect the following information pursuant to Article 4-3 (Prohibition of Demand of Personal Information including Place of Birth) of the Fair Hiring Procedure Act, and therefore, an applicant needs to be careful not to submit the following information:
(1) Physical conditions of a job applicant, such as appearance, height, and weight; (2) The place of birth, marital status, and property of a job applicant; (3) Academic background, occupation, and property of a job applicant’s lineal ascendant or descendant and sibling.
2. Destruction of Personal Information
If an applicant’s consent to collection and use of personal information is expired or an applicant requests the destruction of his or her personal information provided to Coupang, Coupang destroys it without delay.
However, pursuant to Article 33 of the Equal Employment Opportunity and Work-family Balance Assistance Act, Coupang stores documents concerning recruitment and employment provided in Article 7 of the same law for three years.
If printed on paper, an applicant’s personal information will be destroyed by shredding or incinerating the paper documents. If stored in the form of electronic files, an applicant’s personal information will be destroyed by technical means making the records non-reproducible.

4. Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties
Coupang does not provide applicants’ personal information to any third party without consent from the applicants. It, however, can be provided without consent when such provision is permitted by applicable laws.

5. Rights of Data Subject and How to Exercise Them
Applicants or Legal representative can request to view, update, delete, or suspend processing of their personal information provided to Coupang by contacting the person in charge via phone call or email. However, please note that failing to receive required information through applicants’ job applications, Coupang may not be able to progress the hiring process in a fair manner. Furthermore, it may be difficult to fulfill requests from customers to delete or stop the processing of their personal data, or withdraw the consent if any of the following is true:
- There are special provisions under the law, or it isabsolutely necessaryto fulfill an obligation under the law;
- There is a possibility of incurring damage to life, body, property and other interests of a third party
6. Measures to Ensure the Safety of Personal Information
- Minimizing the number of personal information handlers and conducting trainingCoupang grants and manages permissions to handle applicants’ personal information to only those necessary and conducts training for the personal information handlers on how to manage personal information securely.
- Restricting access to personal information
Coupang takes necessary measures to control access to personal information by granting, changing, or revoking access rights to database systems that process applicants’ personal information. Also, Coupang prevents unauthorized access to applicants’ personal information from external sources by implementing intrusion prevention systems. - Encrypting personal information
Applicants’ personal information is securely stored and managed with encryption. - Installing and periodically updating security software
To prevent leakage or damage of personal information by hacking or computer viruses, Coupang installs security software to employees’ computers and systems and conducts periodic updates and inspections.
7. Cookies
Cookies are tiny text files which are sent from Coupang’s website server to a user’s computer and then stored in the hard disc of the computer. Later when you return to the site, the cookies are read to remember your device and restore your previous settings and usage automatically. You have the right to allow or decline the installation or collection of cookies as detailed below.
