In this Operation and Management Policy for Coupang’s Portable Visual Data Processing Devices, Coupang Corp. (“Campany”) informs you of the purpose and manner in which the Company uses and manage visual data that it processes.

1. Rationale and purpose of installing portable visual data processing devices

The Company installs and operates portable visual data processing devices for the following purposes in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act:

  • To ensure safe driving and prevent vehicle accidents;
  • To prevent misconduct and secure incident evidence;
  • To prevent vehicle/product thefts and vandalism.

The Company keeps a record of and manages request history, including the use of personal visual data for other purposes, provision to third parties, access, and destruction. Personal visual data will be permanently deleted by the Company once its retention period expires in a manner that cannot be reversed (e.g., shredding or incineration of printouts).

5. Consignment of portable visual data processing device installation and management, etc.

The Company does not consign the installation and management of visual data processing devices. If such tasks are consigned in the future, the details of the consignment will be disclosed according to the relevant laws.

6. How and where to access your personal visual data

You can access your personal visual data by contacting a Personal Visual Data Management Officer or Access Permission Holder in advance and visiting the site in person.

7. Handling requests from data subjects to view personal visual data, etc.

If you wish to view, verify the existence of, or delete your personal visual data, you may request it from the Company at any time. However, this is limited to your personal visual data which contains footage of you.

The Company will take necessary measures without delay when requested to view, confirm the existence of, or delete personal visual data, and will notify the reason if the request is unavoidably denied.

8. Measures to ensure the security of personal visual data

The Company limits the number of people handling visual data to a minimum to protect personal visual data, and records and manages the purpose of viewing, viewer, and date and time of viewing to prevent falsification or alteration of personal visual data.
